The Power of Sports Podcast
Hey everyone, you’ve come to the right place! This is the podcast where the geeks meet the jocks …..but this time… no one ends up inside a locker.
I LOVE sports. I grew up playing and watching them, have coached them, and now I study them and teach about them, too.
I made most of my friends in school through sports, and I still play, watch and talk about sports with these friends today.
There is JUST something about sports that fascinates me, and millions of others, so this podcast is a place to explore how and why sports play such an instrumental role in so many people’s lives.
This podcast is called “The Power of Sports” and in it, I interview people with diverse backgrounds in sports, but especially fans, coaches, and players. Through interviews and brief monologues, I explore why sports are so fascinating and play such an instrumental role in many people’s lives. My guests and I also examine the power dynamics that exist on and off the court or field. We always have fun and we try to remain optimistic about the future of sports, too, since the power of sports is in our hands.
Regardless of my guest’s background, I try my best to showcase their work and their passion in the most positive light I can. Overall, I let my guests do their thing, and try to be a partner in their work.
Typically, this podcast will be produced in one hour increments once every few weeks, and will focus on an interview with someone who has some kind of knowledge of sports, although they may not necessarily be a celebrity or household name. I come from a school of the thought that assumes that everyone has an important story to tell, and that it is by asking the right questions that we may come to understand what drives people to live the way that they live, and love sports in the way that they do.
So, I hope you enjoy this show and all the shows that will follow, and if you do, please subscribe, tell a friend, and write a review.
It’s very exciting for me to get the chance to do this podcast. I really appreciate you listening, and I hope that this tiny corner of internet helps you live a brighter day.
