In this episode, we speak to Len Simon, Esq., who is an avid sports fan, successful sports lawyer, and sagacious law professor. Simon has represented a range of sportspeople in a series of fascinating legal cases, including the superstar soccer phenom Olivia Moultrie in her case against the National Women’s Soccer League. He also writes op-eds regarding sports and the law and has been influential in helping to pass SB 206, which gives California-based college athletes the power to control their names, images and likenesses. Please listen in as I ask Simon about his early life in sports, how he became a successful sports lawyer, and what he thinks about the legal issues that remain in college sports today.
